Indiana's 14 Land-Based Casinos
Indiana operates one of the Midwest's largest commercial casino markets. The state's 14 licensed properties generated $3 billion in adjusted gross receipts during fiscal year 2025 — a 5.4% increase from the prior year, boosted by the opening of Terre Haute Casino Resort in April 2024.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana (Gary)
Hard Rock Northern Indiana is Indiana's highest-earning casino and has held that position for 47 consecutive months as of September 2025. The property replaced the former Majestic Star casinos in Gary and brought the globally recognized Hard Rock brand to the state.
Key stats:
- Fiscal year 2025 gross gaming revenue: $444.3 million — over $100 million more than any other Indiana casino
- Gaming floor: 1,700+ slot machines, 80+ live dealer table games
- September 2025 monthly AGR: $32.5 million
- Strategically located to capture Chicago metro cross-border traffic
Hard Rock's parent company operates online gaming platforms in regulated states (New Jersey, Connecticut), positioning this property as a likely iGaming operator if Indiana authorizes online casino play.
Horseshoe Indianapolis (formerly Horseshoe Hammond)
Horseshoe Indianapolis is Indiana's second-highest earning casino with fiscal year 2025 GGR of $332.2 million. The Caesars Entertainment property features the largest poker room in Indiana with 34 tables, plus more than 3,000 slot machines and approximately 150 gaming tables across a 350,000-square-foot gaming floor.
Caesars operates online casino platforms in multiple regulated states through its Caesars Digital division and would be among the first operators to launch an Indiana online casino upon authorization. The Caesars Rewards loyalty program — one of the largest in gaming — would enable seamless integration between land-based and online play.
Caesars Southern Indiana (Elizabeth)
Located along the Ohio River near Louisville, Caesars Southern Indiana generated $243 million in gross gaming revenue during fiscal year 2024, with November 2025 revenue rising 6.2% year-over-year to $20.7 million. The property serves the Louisville metro and southern Indiana market.
Terre Haute Casino Resort (Terre Haute)
The newest addition to Indiana's casino portfolio, Terre Haute Casino Resort opened on April 5, 2024, as a $290 million development by Churchill Downs Incorporated. The property features 1,000 slot machines, 36 table games, a sportsbook, a 122-room luxury hotel (opened May 15, 2024), and multiple restaurants. The casino generated approximately 550 permanent jobs.
Four Winds Casino South Bend (Tribal)
Four Winds South Bend is Indiana's only tribal casino, owned and operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. The property features 1,400 gaming machines and a 10-table live poker room. As a tribal operation, Four Winds operates under a separate regulatory framework from Indiana's commercial casinos and is not under IGC jurisdiction.
